ANDY LAPIDES, MSW, LCSW, BCD

Andy is a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey and New York state and is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Social Work.  He completed post-graduate psychotherapy training at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy & Training in New York City from 2005 to 2008, and continued his studies at the Academy of Clinical & Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ from 2009 to 2012, and The Center for Group Studies in New York City from 2013 to 2016.  He is presently an adjunct professor at the Rutgers University School of Social Work.

His philosophy to psychotherapy and practice utilizes an integrative framework combining the different approaches he’s studied.  He believes people are more than their struggles and treatment should fit each individual patient's needs. At some point in life, we all need help in adapting to life's up and downs. With the right combination of support, understanding, confrontation, and exploration, Andy feels anyone can grow.  Client's often comment on Andy's strong listening skills, sensitivity, genuineness, and use of humor.
